Summertime Alley

Photographed in Cape May, New Jersey in June of 2023. This print is a little controversial as I have found that people either love it or hate it. For me, this image was a happy accident and at the time I didn't realize its potential as a print. You see, my little camera was malfunctioning, and at time I was annoyed because I had just stated to the universe that I was going to roam around Cape May and just photograph what inspires me. This was my first stop after this exclamation and my camera refused to focus. I turned it on and off. I removed the lens and put it back. Nothing worked. So I ended up with a series of unfocused images from this alley. I walked away thinking, ok my camera isn't working but maybe this will lead to some interesting images. As soon as I moved from this location my camera issues disappeared and it started focusing again...and I couldn't repeat the effect. *Sigh.* So I continued on photographing images in focus.
